Indonesia has an incredibly rich culture, but some of it is fading away with each generation. “The Keepers” focuses on the artisans who have made it their life’s work to keep Indonesia’s cultural heritage alive. I was heavily inspired by the patterns in handmade batik fabric, the artwork of Barong masks, and wayang shadow puppets. The show’s open features animated patterns which reveal and conceal footage before landing on a custom, hand-drawn logo.
